The Poetry of Protest (Wednesday Series)

Series Title: The Poetry of Protest

Facilitator: Jacob Winterstein

Series Dates: 2/4/2015, 2/11/2015, 2/18/2015, and 2/25/2015.

Series Description: During this series we will look at how poets and musicians have used lyrics to support, document and be apart of social movements. We will look specifically at social movements that have had strong youth leadership. We will then write our own poems that can be apart of larger struggles here at home.

In addition to being a poet, Jacob Winterstein has over ten years of grassroots organizing experience. He has been a small part of movements working to improve public education, stop war, and bring justice to Israel/Palestine.
